The Missions: San Francisco and San José

Unless the mission is oriented by charity, that is, unless it springs from a profound act of divine love, it risks being reduced to mere philanthropic and social activity...Consequently, being missionaries means loving God with all one's heart, even to the point, if necessary, of dying for him. - Pope Benedict XVI

okay, i have an incredible offer for those blogists reading this: since i am going to be celebrating about 2 Masses a day for the next five years or so and have no intentions for any of them, i am offering you the chance to get names and dates in. put in as many as you want. i will, after i get down to the dr, in the next few weeks create a calendar that you can view to see when your Masses will be celebrated. feel free to give a reason for the intention (e.g. birthday) and make sure to note if the person is r.i.p. or not...so let's have them...

in other news, i have said goodbye to just about everyone, so all i need to do is finish packing and get moving.

hopefully i'll post from the sat phone tonight from santo domingo.

happy feast of St. Joseph
