The Missions: San Francisco and San José

Unless the mission is oriented by charity, that is, unless it springs from a profound act of divine love, it risks being reduced to mere philanthropic and social activity...Consequently, being missionaries means loving God with all one's heart, even to the point, if necessary, of dying for him. - Pope Benedict XVI

continuing our photographic journey through the rectory, we now move to the second floor where the living quarters are located: please notice the shower head - some have told me that hot water is a luxury that i ought not endulge in, it's not "missionary" enough - i'll give up hot water for lent. notice the wiring, kind of suspect, but i wear flip-flips with rubber straps, so i think i'm okay...the ladder at the end of hallway is what i used to climb on the roof for the first month to blog and check email - i will continue the rectory series with some shots of the roof. for what it's worth (fr violette, i'll save you the trouble, about .5 pesos), i took that ridiculous picture of myself today
