The Missions: San Francisco and San José

Unless the mission is oriented by charity, that is, unless it springs from a profound act of divine love, it risks being reduced to mere philanthropic and social activity...Consequently, being missionaries means loving God with all one's heart, even to the point, if necessary, of dying for him. - Pope Benedict XVI

by the way, i failed to report on the succulence of the pig, well, becuase he was undercooked. that's right, the guy didn't cook him long enough, even after i jammed a thermometer in him and told the guy to make sure it got to 160. i don't think he knew how to read. that's the last time i ever trust another man with the cooking of my pig. never again i tell you - it was the first time i had ever trusted anyone else and i paid the price...
