The Missions: San Francisco and San José

Unless the mission is oriented by charity, that is, unless it springs from a profound act of divine love, it risks being reduced to mere philanthropic and social activity...Consequently, being missionaries means loving God with all one's heart, even to the point, if necessary, of dying for him. - Pope Benedict XVI

much of life is based on one's relative position (einstein was kinda big on that): i.e. i told my good friend last night that it had rained, and he said he was sorry. i had to explain to him, who lives in northern virginia, that we had not had a single drop of rain in 4 months and that nothing could have given us greater joy...God is good.
