wonder of wonders, the comments have reappeared, but apparently the fix is a temporary one. therefore, i have begun a quest for a different comment service. the last few days of commentless blogging has been a drag. the blog is a vacuum without the surly, sarcastic, banal, intelligent, insightful, and inspiring reflections of the hoi polloi.

i hope to have the situation remedied by late tonight.
