The Missions: San Francisco and San José

Unless the mission is oriented by charity, that is, unless it springs from a profound act of divine love, it risks being reduced to mere philanthropic and social activity...Consequently, being missionaries means loving God with all one's heart, even to the point, if necessary, of dying for him. - Pope Benedict XVI

now this tale might just make you feel that your life is pretty easy: the poor fellows who carried the casket up a nightmarishly big mountain to bury there friend arrived safely only to find out that he had already been buried - so they had to carry it all the way back down and return it....i've arrived safely in the states. this little "worm" issue has not resolved itself, so say some prayers that my stomach can enjoy all this great food.
